    I’m Back!

Reading Time: 2 Minutes What’s up everyone! Sorry, sorry – I know I’ve been neglecting this blog a little bit, but things have been a bit TOO much these days. Some of you are aware of what’s going on in our personal lives, and I won’t dwell on it here. However strictly financially speaking – I’ve done a LOT in the last few days. You see, despite the reinforcement that finance and numbers and FIRE are not the be all, end all in recent weeks (believe me, family and health are), I still think it’s important to not let that area slide. So like any good boy scout, I’ve been…

4 Lessons of Instagram and Investing

Reading Time: 3 Minutes So this week, we received news that Instagram is rolling out an experiment to see what happens when it hides the number of likes on photos and other posts. It affects users in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan and New Zealand. Canada has just finished its trial. No longer will the number of “likes” be shown, rather it will be replaced by one user name and “others”. Global Total Returns 2019 (YTD June)

Reading Time: 2 Minutes Howdy all! How are you? Was just remarking tonight that I can’t believe we are almost at the end of July! Crazy stuff. Afterpay… A New Way to Pay?

Reading Time: 3 Minutes What’s up Frugal Samuraites! Ab-so-loot-ly freezing my proverbial cheeks off here in Auld Sydney town. Maybe something about not wearing pants according to MrsFrugalSamurai. Shorts and long socks aren’t attractive apparently, ha! The nerve of that woman. I actually think it’s to do with these Antarctic winds coming over for a visit Brrrr. That’s partly why MrsFrugalSamurai and I found ourselves in the warm embrace of friendship at our friend Bess’s place last night. A riproaring dinner as always (thank you Bess!) and of course the conversation was as free flowing as the meal (beef hotpot with traditional oriental sides). Unfortunately for yours truly, I missed…

    What I’m Viewing

Reading Time: 2 Minutes Hola damas y caballeros, ¿cómo están? Bienvenidos a otra edición de TheFrugalSamurai. Coughs. Ahem, excuse me there – had the language settings all mixed up. As much as I love speaking Russi… er Spanish, have to admit it that it makes things difficult for a predominantly English blog. Quick and easy one today with another rendition of the classic TheFrugalSamurai’s “What I’m Viewing”. Been a while since I’ve done one of these (last one here) so thought it best to keep us all updated on a short selection of articles, videos and links I’ve found useful in the last couple weeks to assist us on our financial…
