Reading Time: 4 Minutes “GLUG GLUG GLUG” That’s the sound of me chugging a HUGE glass of water. Hells bells looking after two toddlers is hard. AND it’s only day 2. By that I mean, MiniFrugalSamurai and BabyFrugalSamurai are off daycare for a couple of weeks given it’s the “holiday” season. And as MrsFrugalSamurai is still rostered on at her work… guess who has the honour of looking after those two fkwits preciouses? Yesterday (day 1) was OK… but today (day 2) was an absolute struggle. I just want the holidays to be over ASAP so normal service can resume PUHLEAZ. It’s 10:53pm and I’ve FINALLY got a moment to breathe.…

Is The National Property Boom Over?
Reading Time: 2 Minutes Uh oh, I’m going to take a more serious tone boys and girls, because it looks like Australia’s property boom which has been ongoing since COVID, is finally winding down. I say this because the latest Home Value Index from Corelogic caught my eye: From here, you can see that overall dwelling values eeked out a tiny 0.1% gain in November, the weakest result since January 2023. Even the big hitters like Perth, Radelaide and Brisvegas have been sluggish. The falls are even greater in our two majors of Sydney and Melbourne. I had posted about the previous months figures here, but it sure looks like…

Sydney Apartment Values Slump
Reading Time: 3 Minutes Hola everyone! What weird and whacky weather we have been having recently! I went from being baked and sweaty in 40c on Wednesday to being sticky and sweaty in 20c on Friday. CAN SOMEONE MAKE UP THEIR MIND PUH-LEAZE. It’s mad enough to make one hot and sweaty inside… Sigh, although I spose you guys didn’t stop here to hear me rant about the Sydney weather did ya. No siree, it was the oh so catchy headline innit? Well, that headline actually came from Channel 9. Or rather, one of their media articles from FB: https://fb.watch/w9qbnzkaa0/ In this article, it’s claimed that apartments in some suburbs…

House Prices Fall In 40% Of Sydney Suburbs
Reading Time: 2 Minutes I was perusing the interwebs whilst trying to put BabyFrugalSamurai down to sleep last night, and an article happened to catch my eye: House prices fall in 40pc of Sydney suburbs “House prices are now falling across two out of every five Sydney suburbs, a five-fold increase from a year ago, and the highest level in 20 months… the share of Melbourne suburbs where house values dropped in the past three months also blew out to 76.3 per cent, six times higher than last year”. Holy smokes was my initial thought, wondering if the precipitous drop had ensnared the suburb where we reside. I quickly scanned…

Return Of The Donald (And How It Affects Me)
Reading Time: 2 Minutes He’s Back! Who? The Donald of course! The President-elect of the United States. I still can’t quite believe THAT GUY I watched on The Apprentice two decades ago will now be the leader of the free world for the SECOND time. Amazing what the circle of life brings. But frankly speaking, I wouldn’t have voted for either Harris or Trump even if I was eligible. If those two candidates were the “best” which the US had to offer in terms of the presidency, then it’s a pretty sad state of affairs. Sigh. Seems to me that politics these days is all about pandering to whatever extreme left…
