    Superannuation 101

    March 20, 2019

Reading Time: 4 Minutes What’s up everyone! Hope we are all having a good week. Much better for yours truly, thanks for asking. BOO-YAH, I knew it’d be a better week when on Monday, a whole bunch of us got together for an impromptu but QUALITY dinner. Like $65 all-you-can-eat top of the range Japanese BBQ quality. DAY-AM. So of course, as expected the conversation was free-flowing and top notch (just like the meat yum, yum). Actually, I…

20 Tips on Investing in the Stock Market

    March 3, 2019

Reading Time: 4 Minutes Welcome to Autumn everyone! The year is well and truly under-way but geez laweez, can you believe it’s MARCH already! Surely there’s a saying somewhere about how time just FLIES. I’ve been a pretty busy bee so far this year, what with the new property purchase (read here) as well as the hunt for the next addition. But I’m not the only one! There’s a couple of my friends who have also been very busy with their investment journey… especially my esteemed colleague Light Beam. Light Beam’s certainly off to a flyer in the Australian stock market – by my estimates he’s up a good $20k…

    Investing Resources and Links 2019

    January 16, 2019

Reading Time: 3 Minutes What’s up fellow Frugal Samuraites! Hope we are all having a great week. Gonna be quick today cos I’m late to meet MrsFrugalSamurai, we’ve got a hot date “wink wink”. I thought, what best than to share some of the resources and links which I’ve used in the past to obtain my financial info! It’s a fairly chunky list… and most of them won’t be new – but hopefully there’s a golden nugget or two in there! Here it is: Australian Business News The Australian…

Global Total Returns 2018 (vs 2017)

    January 9, 2019

Reading Time: 2 Minutes What’s up everyone! Found this little beauty off the inter-webs, a good visual summary of where global markets ended for 2018… as you can see, unless you were invested in Qatar (standout), Peru or Russia, you would have been better to stash your cash under the mattress. Oh, and same goes for the defensive sectors of Healthcare and Utilities! Just goes to show that investing can be painful – the stock market doesn’t always go up! Interesting to note the performance compared with 2017, which was a phenomenal year to be invested. So what’s ahead for 2019 then? If I had a dollar every time someone…
