7 Thoughts on How to Approach FIRE (Part 2)

    June 24, 2018

Welcome back guys! I’m a bit saddened this weekend. How come you ask? Well, MrsFrugalSamurai left yours truly yesterday. Nothing long-term (I hope), but she did travel to Europe on a work-trip. Poor her, all that culture and food and warm weather must be tough – hope she’ll be OK. But all good, she can have the warmth of the European sun, I’ve got the warmth of the legions of adoring fans. My friend Bugzy commented on the previous post on the “7 Thoughts to Approach FIRE” in his usual witty and happy-go-lucky manner (he’s a closet leprechaun). But you know, not all of us is blessed with the same green…

7 Thoughts on How to Approach FIRE (Part 1)

    June 20, 2018

What’s up boys and girls! Hope everyone’s having a great week! Freezing our fingers and toes off here in Old Sydney Town, never realized Winter could be so cold (it can, that’s why it is called “Winter”). Following on from my previous post where I asked for questions from yourselves, there’s been quite a few responses (that’s a few more than I expected)! For those of you who sent them through, thank you for doing so – I’m going through them now and there’s plenty of great questions and topics to cover. However there’s a question from Bugzy about FIRE which really struck a nerve. Bugzy asks: “Dear Frugal My…

4 Things to Consider Before Buying Your “Dream” Home!

    June 13, 2018

“Oh please! Please, at least take a look!” “No! We can’t afford it, move on.” “Come on! We can – it’s not that much, we can do it!” “How much is it again?” “Listed for $1.3m, but think about the space for the kids and it’ll be a place to call home.” “Hmm… what’s the address again?” …. So went the conversation I overheard at lunch today between a young professional couple. You could see it in their eyes really. Hers was fixated and pleading, stubbornly refusing to let go. His was unsure and trapped, not wanting to disappoint yet knowing deep down the truth… fear. They were of course,…

The Frugal Samurai wants your questions! (He’ll answer them…I think…)

    June 11, 2018

Howdy guys! How’s your long weekend going? Yep, have to thank the Queen for that – us Sydneysiders, we celebrate the Queen’s Birthday on Monday – even though she was born on 21st April. That’s how baller she is – everyone has to celebrate her birthday on a day that is not her birth date. Westminster Represent Yo. It’s also been heaps wet in Old Sydney Town – so much so that grandpas and grandmas sit around the Winter fire telling the young ‘uns what it was like “back in the good old days” when the sun still shone through the clouds. Speaking of old tales and Winter fires, I caught…

    Remembering the Why!

    June 7, 2018

A tall, handsome figure walks across screen. The camera pans to the figure’s face – youthful and optimistic, the face breaks into a welcoming smile. Oh hello, it’s you again. Thanks for popping by. How are you? I hope you had a good day. Did you happen to catch the “State of Origin” last night? I certainly did, I missed the regular Wednesday blog schedule cos of it! (To the uninitiated, rugby league is a sport whereby 13 big, grown men proceed to sprint at 13 other big, grown men for 80 minutes pretending to carry an oval shaped ball past a marked line. These other big, grown men have…
