4 More Learnings From Planning a Wedding (So Far)

Hey boys and girls! It’s your favourite Frugal Samurai again – how’s everybody doing? Did you have a wonderful weekend? What’d ya get up to?! Mine was go go go all the way. Doing what you ask? Ticking off our wedding checklist. There’s so many items left that it feels like we’re back to our university days. You know, when you have an assignment deadline tomorrow, you have a rough idea of what to do, AND you know you’ll be staying up all night to get it done. Coming out of our last meeting with the wedding planner, we got the what to do reasonably down pat. Now it’s the…

    What Does Your Heart Say?

“But… why can’t we buy this?” This was the question pre-adolescent me would often ask my parents growing up in our small two-bedroom flat by the tracks. Because we can’t afford it.  The same response, over and over. This line of thinking was ingrained in me for so long that whenever a decision is required to be made – inevitably “I can’t afford it”. Should I start my own business? Nope, stick with your job instead, you can’t afford to quit. Should I invest in the stock market? Man what a day – if only everyday was like this! People laughing, partying, enjoy time with their loved ones…

Hahaha, only joking – I’m very grateful for all of you who have supported and believed in me on this journey to date. Honestly don’t want to sound kli-shay-ed, but your messages, feedback, responses both private and public has given me that extra boost when I MOST needed it – so sincerely: Thank you. They say that you should reflect…

My Friend’s Lessons In Love And Finance

Ding, Dong, the witch is dead! Which old witch? The Wicked Witch! Sorry guys, had that humming in my head all day, my friend Juggsy’s been love-struck recently and been moaning about his “witch” – (some mythical creature none of us has seen) which has his heart on a string. Poor bastard, he falls head over heels EACH time a girl flutters her eyelids at him. “LEAVE ME ALONE, I just want to play the piano and stroke my baby’s hair”. Just wow, REALLY feel for him. But the more I think about Juggsy’s predicament the more I can see parallel’s between what he’s going through with lurve to what…
