Waka waka eh eh!!! Tsamina mina zangalewa!!! This time for Africa!!! Shakira Shakira! “Takes headphones off”. Oh hello – it’s you again. Pardon me there, I got carried away – the World Cup is on you see. The four-yearly event has come around and landed in Russia, hands up if you’ve been watching it! MrsFrugalSamurai and I certainly have been – more the case of me forcing her to watch that is. “Come on babe! Egypt versus Uruguay!!!” “Uruguay… is that a fruit?” Blank expression. “N…no dear… it’s a country…” “In Europe?” Geographical ignorances aside (my apologies on her behalf to all our Uruguayan friends), the World Cup is THE…

5 Things to Remember on the First Day of Work
Howdy guys! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Gosh the days and weeks fly by don’t they? Last week was a bit special for yours truly because it was the last week of my gardening leave. Gardening leave is leave which your employer grants so you can better take care of your garden. “Go home and don’t come back until you get that filthy garden cleaned up.” No, I lie, unfortunately – the real definition of gardening leave is: “An employee’s suspension from work on full pay for the duration of a notice period, typically to prevent them from having any further influence on the organization or from accessing confidential…

Visualizing The World
What’s up Frugal Samuraites! Hope everyone’s having a great time. MrsFrugalSamurai and I are still recovering from our magical wedding day, was worth every rocky step of the journey planning it. We took out some of MrsFrugalSamurai’s relatives from overseas afterwards to thank them for making the long journey to celebrate with us. During lunch, a relative of hers (a very successful career woman in financial services) found out that I too worked in financial services. As you do, we both started talking about… you guessed it – financial services. The conversation twirled from the Australian economy, to how hard difficult it is to purchase real estate in Hong Kong…

Yes indeedy, ladies and gentlemen – it’s almost time. Time for what? For the wedding of the century of course. Oh you mean Harry and Meghan? (Thoughtful pause) No… no I don’t mean Harry and Meghan… “rubs chin” but yes, yes you’re right – that would be quite a wedding. No, I meant the wedding between yours truly and MrsFrugalSamurai-to-be. It’s now mere days away. Wait, do I know you? Probably not, not many people do – I’m like the wind you see, billowing in the summer breeze, roaring in the winter gales, whispering through the Autumn leaves, caressing the… ahem, apologies, I got sidetracked. Riiiight… Just bear with me…

How Watching Tintin is Changing Me One Step at a Time!
“No Tintin! Don’t go that way!” Said I, whilst on the edge of my seat this afternoon, engrossed in the latest episode of “The Adventures of Tintin”. The plot line was about one of his associates, a lady opera singer – who had lost her extremely valuable Emerald. Of course, like all Tintin stories – there was a happy ending (not that kind, it’s a children’s show for goodness sake). The lesson I got out of the episode, is if you ever lose a precious gemstone the size of your fist – don’t investigate your personal maid, or your gambling addict pianist. Emeralds are created when rocks are soaked in…
